The result was keep. Apologies I tried quick keep and fat fingers and accidentally deleted instead. Spartaz Humbug! 08:09, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

Alright, this is a pretty different nomination. Yes, they are notable in their own right. However, a lot of the content here is already covered or can be covered in the main article on Lego.
Obviously, it would be a selective merge, since incorporating all of the content there could make the article too long. There is also now a separate article on their retail stores, so that section would not need to be merged to Lego.
If there are any objections to this, please let me know. NewAccount7295 (talk) 20:13, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

- Keep – Absolutely KEEP. Lego is about the history, the founder and the roots of the Lego concept and the toys in the context of the Danish woodworking and furniture industry in the mid twentieth century. The article casts light on the "Danish Design" phenomenon and the culture around it. It also describes the switch from wood to plastics (another industrial-cultural change) and the development of a small family business into an international company. The Lego Group article talks about the global company running the present manifestation - two totally different things. Jensenjan (talk) 09:40, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep – Lego should be about the toy itself or brand, while The Lego Group should be about the company, its history, divisions, management, other ventures, etc. There's probably more overlap now than there should be, but to me that just means some parts should be reshuffled between articles and the company article should be more fleshed out. I can't think of any way having all the company info as a section on the product page wouldn't be unwieldy; unless it was merged so it was spread throughout and used the company infobox as the main one? But people might not like that. Regardless I agree something needs to be done, I just think there's more that can be written about the companies. Ringtail Raider (talk) 00:08, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep - two distinct things, both of which easily pass the notability threshold.Jishara (talk) 00:28, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep- I'm not really sure exactly what the rational is here. Per WP:RELAR, this is a perfectly fine related article. It's necessarily going to have a lot of content around Lego itself, but they're not synonymous. NewAcount, I think it would be helpful if you provided a little more rational as to why you feel these pages should be merged. Is it just that the amount of current content in the company page is largely already in the overall Lego page? If so, I'd argue that just because that's the current situation doesn't mean that it will be in the future. Yojo98 (talk) 00:12, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- My rationale was that The Lego Group's history is very intertwined with that of the Lego product anyway (company details are also covered at Kirkbi), so even with some edits to differentiate them, when talking about their history, you're going to be talking about a lot of the same things. Here are a few examples:
- Lego#History is similar to The Lego Group#History
- Lego#Design and Lego#Manufacturing are similar to The Lego Group#Production
- Lego#Related services is similar to The Lego Group#Legoland and The Lego Group#Retail stores
- But as of now it is looking like the consensus is leaning towards keep so I understand that they are two distinct topics. NewAccount7295 (talk) 00:20, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'd advice you to look over the policy at WP:RELAR and also what Ringtail said above. The company's going go have some overlap necessarily, but I think there's potential here for them to be more differentiated. Companies can also shift and merge, I know this doesn't happen with Lego now but that doesn't preclude it from happening in the future. There's a good amount of information that's more relevant at the company page, and I just don't see this as a good move organizationally. The marginal time saving from having a bigger article and only one to update (which I think is your objective? Correct me if wrong) doesn't outweigh the complexity and deviation from site policy, IMO. Yojo98 (talk) 00:32, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- There was no doubt about notability here, but rather the content, as I stated in the rationale, although there are things which are covered in one article that aren't covered in the other and the other way around, so you'd be right about that.
- There is already a lot of overlap, and you don't have to describe everything in great detail, so I wasn't concerned about article size.
- Indeed there are things I see that could be problematic to just move into the main article like Lego Interactive (unless it were to be condensed), since it has to do with something other than the toy and was a division of the company, so yes I can see there being two separate articles, although we can let the discussion run its course and avoid withdrawing it. - There's been some shifting within Lego, as it contains a number of sub-companies, including some that are notable enough on their own (or as part of Lego's spread around the world) that they can probably be written about some, like Lego UK, Lego Systems Inc, and Lego Media (which already has a little info). Not to mention companies that have split away from Lego like Modulex, Create TV & Film, and whatever happened with Legoland and Merlin, or ones they've obtained like Zowie Intertainment. - Keep – If there is any overlap, the overlapping text should be removed. FaviFake (talk) 14:41, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep - The company and the brand are too distinct entities. See WD-40 and WD-40 Company, Coca-Cola and The Coca-Cola Company. You can merge some of the content if you really want but the company should stay as a standalone article. OceanHok (talk) 16:05, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep The toy and the company are different and distinct. Also, not all overlapping text is bad. Each article text should be assessed on its own individual merits. - X201 (talk) 07:36, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
